Done!

Thursday, May 29, 2008

The beginning of the month was fairly productive, but the end of the month, not so much...  We went on a family vacation and though I took my knitting with me, I didn't get much accomplished and then had to rip out some of what I did.   So...

I have 3 finished hats.  These were so fun to make, I couldn't wait to do the next one to see how they turn out.  They are knit using the Fair Isle technique with Brown Sheep's NatureSpun and Noro's Kuryeon or Silk Garden.  The Noro provides the subtle color changes.  The patterns are in Charlene Schurch's book; Hats On!  The hats are on display in the shop.  Stop by and see them.

I also finished my Colibri sweater in time for vacation.  The hardest part was finding the right color tank top to wear with it.

Early in May, Cele and I went to a trade show.  Ok, we got into alot of trouble and bought too much stuff for the shop and  added even more to our knitting list to show you samples of the new yarns.  The first is a Rayon Metallic from Blue Heron Yarns.  This stuff is gorgeous and has beautiful drape.  I am making a scarf using a simple feather and fan pattern.  I won't even talk about the other things on my list, hopefully you'll see some of them in June's knitting journey.

Then I got to thinking about the Noro's Kuryeon Sock yarn and thought wouldn't make a great shawl?  Well of course it would!  This is just the beginning, hopefully I'll have a pattern and finished shawl to show you soon.

Oh, I almost forget, I knit a pair of fuzzy mittens in between everything else.  One skein of Wildfoote sock yarn and one of KidSilk Haze. They are so soft and pretty and feel so good.  You can visit them at Spin A Yarn.

And of course there are still the unfinished projects from last month still in my bag....  The Alice Starmore sweater, the Koigu Mosaic Jacket and my son's tie... not a stitch knit on them.

... Until next month... Nancy
